Have you tried a PRAM and/or SMC reset already?
PRAM/NVRAM has nothing to do with the OP's issue.
Mac OS X: What's stored in PRAM (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1242)
When to reset NVRAM or PRAM (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1895)
SMC might help with some fan, unexpected power-offs or slow performance issues, but not heat-related shutdowns, as the OP described.
Intel-based Macs: Resetting the System Management Controller (SMC) (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964)

Ok so do you guys think they would increase the amount of batteries in the keyboard?
I'm aware that it wouldn't be a very apple thing to do, but what do you think?
Currently the batteries take up about half of that little cylinder shape at the top. If they really squeezed they could put 4 batteries instead of two in there... But that would still only last 4-7 days tops.

You are quite mistake, this second preview is near feature complete. It needs some polishing, but for the most part it's nearly ready to be shipped.
It was quite buggy after using it today for a while. Crashing, beach balls, slow, lots of UI bugs, missing features, etc. No where near the quality of Xcode 3.

It really, really depends on what your platform and application is. NO ONE can give you good advise without knowing those two things. You probably want a consultant to help you design this properly if you aren't an expert.

I get a bit jumpy about sites that offer loads - I mean how do they fund all this? I also find the graphics a bit annoying after while, but the gallery I like!

Only took two songs to convince me.... I immediately downloaded everything Katie Melua has available on iTunes and am enjoying her beautiful voice even as I type.... I wish her new album were on iTunes, too, but I can check the local music stores next time I'm there and pick up the actual CD.
Thank you for guiding me to this singer with the exquisite voice! :)

If it does what you need it to, and does it to your liking, I don't think there is any reason to upgrade.

I nealry lost a testicle when my wife saw the debit... but once she got to use the monitor a bit.... she was thrilled and acknowledge how much better it is then her 17 inch dell at work and praised me for making such a wise investment....
now if that does not demonstrate the quality of apple.... you should just go buy a dell!
The negative post on the new 23" on the Apple forum have slowed down and seem to be populated by a few who have uneven backlighting with yellow shading on the left.

How do i know what format the drive is in?
Plug the external drive into your MacBook Pro, and open a finder window. The WD drive should show up in the left part of the finder window, under devices.
Right-click on the drive, and click on "Get Info".
In the Info window, part way down you'll see the format. For example:
Format: MS-DOS (FAT32)
or
Format: Mac OS Extended (Journaled)
or
something else for NTFS...
Remember, you can't reformat a drive (or a partition) without losing the files currently on that drive (partition). So, you MUST copy the files somewhere else, first.

The point is, it ISN'T corrupted, and I have tried resaving pictures. There is nothing wrong with the pictures themselves, and my first thought was that it was Apache (2.0.52) but I don't see how that could be the problem.
After a little more testing, they load fine when I use localhost as the address, but not when I use the no-ip address.

What should Apple make next?
iPhone Landline? iMirror - although there's something like that called the Cybertecture mirror...
Here's a mockup of a touchscreen lock that would be pretty sick. even if it'd be something that prioritized looks over safety..

I'm pretty good programming in PHP and Javascript, but now I need something that allows me to create simple desktop apps. Mostly it will be for automation scripts, too much for Apple Script, but not complex enough to jump into Cocoa and Objective-C. Examples: Manipulating text files (sorting, dupe line checking, adding/cutting parts, splitting/combining files etc.), uploading a file to several different FTP servers, sending POST requests to a server.
I often hear Pearl and Python mentioned and I believe they are pre-installed on the Mac, but I don't know much about them. What's the main difference? Which one (or something else?) would be best suited for these tasks? Which one is easier to learn?
Bonus: What's a good site to learn for someone who has general programming knowledge, but is a total noob with those languages?

While running Handbrake, open the OSX Activity Monitor and look at the CPU usage meter (Command-2). Are both your processors maxed out at full? If so, then it's probably not a question of the Hard drive being too slow, as it's feeding the program with enough data to keep it running full blast.

I think Steve is going to be there giving free macbookair's away for free as no one is buying them

They are backed up on DVD-R's and on a FW Hard Drive (and on my iPod). Maybe too many backups :)
you can never have too many!
Just watch-- the DVD-Rs will be scratched, the FW hard drive will have some... malady, and you'll be left with your iPod. crazy go nuts!
Enjoy your new iPod. :)

Oh wait, there's a MacBook Air coming out in 2012, and then there's an update in 2013. You gotta hold of till 2014 and get the new ones with turbo-boost CPUs, but the even new models looks much sleeker, unfortunately it's not out till 2015.

They are in the northeast, not the west coast, so I don't think 108 years qualifies as necessarily historic. This issue has nothing to do with historical preservation societies.
The original owners should have disclosed this fact and should be sued. I don't care if there is a law on the book requiring the specific disclosure of whether the house was used as a drug lab -- the house is hazardous to their health and that alone seems like a material fact that should be disclosed during the buying process.
This is why there are laws. People don't always do what is in the best interest of others.

Question is in the title. Any thoughts? I know there was an Apple computer that sold for quite a bit a few weeks ago, but I'm sure it was way older. It's in perfect condition and I even have an old Apple printer for it (which works as well). Thanks. :apple:
