I recently saw a pc with OSX running on it. And that's neat. I'm mainly a Windows user but I've remained respectful to Apple hardware but I can't stand OSX. It's stable and it's easy to use but I much rather prefer the unrestricted control a knowledgeable user can have over Windows. Thus leads me to my question;
Has anyone gotten or heard of anyone getting Windows to run on a Mac without an excruciatingly slow emulator? Is there any chance of this happening in the future?

When attaching pics from your computer, make sure the file size isn't larger than the maximum allowed by the forum. When you click the paperclip icon, a new window/tab opens to browse for the file. At the bottom of that window are the max file sizes allowed for each image type.
Just tried a small file. No go. It won't let me get that far. I go to the picture, copy..."clunk". I go to the forum, type in [img] and click paste. Nothing. Why the "clunk" when it wasn't there before?
BTW...I have no trouble with youtube videos or "attachments".

thanks for your effort. that explains npr, but i am sure i checked other stations also, just out of curiousity, and got the same result. i'll check again to see if i'm being lazy in my thinking.
otherwise, just wanna say that this sucks. i like a lot of streaming audio sources, and i prefer qt/itunes whenever possible. those choices seem to be winnowing, not expanding. :mad:

Just to clarify, this is the 2407WFPb revision A03. It is the original version and better than the 2407WFP-HC. The 2407WFPb is better suited for graphic designers.

I thought displayout only works with the VGA adapter for mirrored images on the ipad1?

I made the switch last year from windumbs, something I should have done years ago. I want to display my new feelings with some desktop photos. I have seen a few O SX vs. win themes, example there was one with the apple logo melting in to the win logo another one had the OS X logo standing on top of the msn butter fly. but for some reason now that I want theme I cant find em! if any one can give me a link to wear I mite find such images defacing the ms logos it would be appreciated

The Lightscribe burners aren't out yet but I definitely have my cash set aside for one. They look like such a neat idea.
On topic, the LaCie's are pretty much made for the Mac so I'd recommend them as an external burner. Plus, the cases look really cool.

I'm just really learning about this type of technology, so I'm curious: what makes a SSD different when erased compared to a traditional disk-spinning HD? I had always heard that, with a traditional HD, even if you erased/reformatted the drive and threw it away that some savvy tech types could somehow either restore your drive or get file fragments to get information, etc? Maybe that's just paranoid urban myth, but that's what I had always heard. What, technologically speaking, makes a SSD different in terms of not retaining old data when erased? Just curious.

They do. That's why we had to send some DV decks back to Sony, as they were often kaputt due to the wrong order of connecting them to the computer.

I bought a white iPhone 4 and have been disappointed in it's reception compared to my old black one. However call quality is great and the proximity sensor is 1000x better. I'm thinking about swapping it for another one but I'm not convinced anything is really wrong with it.

Congrats on sticking around - I saw that your user id is 340 - I don't know if there are any other users with lower ids than you (except maybe arn) that post regularly. Even eye is 1045....

Oh I would definitely advise you to switch to Earthlink. AOL is satan, I had to report them to the BBB because they refused to give me a refund when I cancelled service. Then, 3 months after I cancelled, they re-activated my account and started trying to draft money from my credit card. It was a big nightmare and my bank had to suspend AOL from charging me.
Earthlink is great because they are simple and don't BS you all the time. The only downside is they try to send you junk mail about their services, even when you don't want it. But I don't use their email, so it's not a problem.

I think it only charges when the iBook is running from the mains power, not the battery, but I could be wrong. :o

Its also the buggiest thing on the OS, it disables typing after a few minutes, doesnt want to load web pages some times, and everytime you skip around in a flash video it starts it as a new download without killing the old one meaning youll end up with a bunch of FLV's being downloaded at the same time killing your bandwidth and having your video stopped on sites that dont allow multiple connections.

It may have something running in the background that prevents the automatic sleeping. Check system prefs, accounts, your account, login items to see if it starts up automatically at login. If it does, select that and click the minus button. You can also check activity monitor to see if there are programs running in the background keeping it awake.

Yeah hopefully. It's definitely been a slower process than the previous generation MacBooks. And it probably doesn't help that I'm a college student who probably doesn't treat his computer as nice as he should :p

Turns out I never should have been required to purchase a data plan from Verizon in the first place. Data plans are only mandatory for verizon on phones introduced after 2009. Palm Centro was released in 2008 (and available on ebay for a very reasonable cost). I asked specifically not to have a data plan when I called to activate, and was told I had to purchase one in order to activate the phone. Apparently their reps are not well informed about their company's policy. I discovered this only after reading another consumer forum after 2 years of paying for the data plan. I am pretty irritated at having spent so much money unnecessarily. If you go this route you will likely told you need a data plan to use Palm Centro on Verizon - not so. Ask to speak with a supervisor until you get them to activate without data plan.
This phone works for me because it is so easy to sync my calendar and contacts using missing sync. What I really needed was a mac syncing qwerty PDA with a phone. This fits the bill as it seems few CMDA phones do.
