what a rip off, tomtom is a joke. sub par navigation app $99 and another $119 for their stupid car mount that does nothing but improve gps signal. they are r@ping many people.

i am happy that iPods "aren't expected" at WWDC, it doesn't seem the right place. We need emphasis on computers and software for them, not redesigned (or just updated) music players. xServe, Mac Pros, and hopefully redesigned exteriors of MacBook Pros, as well as lots of Leopard showing is what i hope for :)

I think no new enclosure, they would have done that when they went Intel! I also second the antiMB keyboard sentiment. The powerbook keyboard is nearly perfect, & one of the the major selling points for MBP over MB for journalists, scientists, intensive-keyboardists, ect, only minor improvements could me made unless there is some new technology integrated...

oh, the MB will get Merom, probably just not for a little while. The MBP has been shipping for 6 months, the MB for only 2. The MBP looks a little weak on price/performance compared to similar PC laptops; the MB holds up very well in price/performance comparisons. The MB is still selling so well apple can hardly keep the white models in stock, whereas demand for the MBP is much lower.
So rest assured, the MB will see Merom, but the MBP will see it first. Probably soon. :)

Consider this, the upcoming keynote is NOT given by SJ but by one of the other Apple senior team members - following his (Steve�s) below par performance last time out... Now this news would be bigger than anything else. I�d even suggest that if he shares any floor-time with anyone else things are not looking good!

I haven't seen any rumors of this, but I would love to see an Apple-branded Comcast HD/DVR box. My Motorola set-top box already has the killer app that everyone wants to see from a IP-streaming device: HD movies on demand for $4 a pop. But the interface is slow and clunky, and Apple would do a much better job.
Nope... Tivo is already in bed with comcast and cox. They will be providing the new interface for the motorola STB (probably by the end of the year).

Why is Apple stopping this? Because it provides publicity to jailbreaking. They may have other reasons for it, but I'll wager more than any other, drawing attention to jailbreaking is the main reason why this bothers them.

Again, as a company which tightly controls the user experience of their devices and doesn't like news such as security flaws, I'm sure there are many things which bother them about jailbreaking, but again there is probably one primary cause: software piracy. Jailbreaking enables software piracy and there's not a whole lot that even the jailbreaking community can do about that.
And then there's a few more nails in the coffin: a jailbreak must take advantage of a security flaw in Apple devices or software in order to be performed, and Apple must patch these flaws in order to maintain their device security. Even if Apple didn't care about jailbreaking so much they should continue patching the flaws, thus the cat and mouse game. So why doesn't Apple just allow it by default? See the earlier points, especially piracy. Apple is going to oppose jailbreaking to the end and they have legitimate reasons to do so. I like to jailbreak my devices from time to time, but I see where they're coming from.

I just bought the iPhone 4 and to be honest, I don't even feel an ounce of disappointment that I could've waited a 5 months for the iPhone 5. I am so thrilled with the iPhone 4 and its capabilities. I've never run into any issues with the external antennae.. I dunnno. I'm a long time diehard apple fan.

When you have a massively parallele solution with custom software that is built to run on non-redundant hardware like Google built with their search engine, yeah, you can afford to skimp on hardware. They don't care if 1 node out of their 10000 fails, and the software doesn't see the impact. But that 1 specialised custom application is not an industry standard and is far from the norm in building data centers.

I don't think the flip phones are fads. Look at all the phones on the market, and the most of them are flips. The most desireable ones are usually the flip phones and have been a while. I remember the first Nokia candybars were extremely popular but those never had that good of features and were cheap. In my opinion, flip phones are more durable (in most cases) and look better.

If Lion is released through the Mac App Store then us here in the UK will get it cheaper, since App Store prices are always less expensive than in the US (in the UK). For once, we may get a new Apple product that costs less.
I would still far prefer a physical backup like the USB key rather than having a virtual copy or a physical copy I have to create from the download.
