    No way,
Glossy screen is the worst thing for professionals that depend on color accuracy.
As for the Isight, I think they will keep off from the Cinema displays. They will make an smaller format stand alone IMHO.
I don't think a Special Event will happen for these products.

I totally wholeheartedly agree the glossy screens are not a always an advantage, if they do it as an option for those who want it then cool but not as standard please!

please get rid of the bezel. make it as small as possible.

please do not make it thinner. rather reduce footprint and keep battery life up.

Agreed. I've never understood why macs have such large bezel's. The 11" MBA is a notable offender in particular, since because the laptop is so small, the wide bezel looks even more immense compared to the rest of the laptop.

They're really not going to let this go are they...

Companies REALLY want to use "App Store" instead of coming up with their own.

I would love to have a red iPod, but I don't know why we would ever give money to help fight AIDS on a continent where the people take NO precautions to prevent themselves from getting AIDS

Education to teach how to prevent the spread of AIDS costs money too.

That would certainly change my mind about getting a 20" iMac. ;)

EDIT: Anyone care to speculate on prices?

No more than $2,499/ 1,799. With the amount of internal room you would get behind a 23" monitor, Apple would have no problem putting in 4 RAM slots and a fast GPU (but I doubt Apple would do a fast GPU anyway).

Yeah it already lets you watch while downloading and frankly I think that this is a very important feature that is not often discussed. People bash it saying that it takes 1.5 hours to download a movie. Well if the movie is 1.5 hours long than wait 5 minutes and start watching. It is close to instant. I know that on my computer it only took 70 minutes to download which means I can start watching it right away. With Verizon rolling out their Fios internet with speeds of up to 30mbs even 1080p will soon be no problem. I am not sure just how big a 1080p movie is but I am hoping that within a year it will be do able for more people.

Don't forget that Apple servers will be the weakest link here. Amazon servers were overcrowded the first days, leading to downloads of 8+ hours (and you can only rent them for 24 hours (or buy them, of course))
They will have to build/purchase a data center or two

And were they produced on a "non-green" MAC?

Why does Apple think it's okay to continually alienate and turn away developers?? Why do fanboys continue to excuse such incidences? Why aren't people SICK of this kind of behavior from Apple?

I think there have been some instances where I understand Apple's side of things. But yes, I realize the process really needs to be refined and clear cut. This specific case is very disappointing and Apple needs to apologize and really work things out with them! Apple needs to take strong measures to ensure that they protect the immensely powerful platform they have going for the future!

    Go Phil and Eddie, go!

Apple noted (http://www.macrumors.com/2011/03/01/apple-defends-against-microsoft-in-app-store-trademark-dispute/) in a prior filing that it had moved to protect its trademark by reaching out to companies it believed was using the "App Store" name improperly, but Microsoft argues that the simple fact that those companies were using the term in the first place indicates that the term is generic.

WOW! That's quite the argument Microsoft's putting forward. If that's true, they're arguing against the entire trademark system! Using someone else's trademark causes it to be generic and no longer a trademark?

    Good luck with that one.

Yeah, but what is currently out there that's better?

That's an empty question that just defends what's going on as "don't worry, it'll be all right" when what people are really too frightened to ask is how long will this go on and what opposing force will be needed to make it change direction. Things are getting worse and lately it's hard to ignore the smell.

Also, $10-15 for a d/l movies is a ripoff. Unless they are going to do HD quality movies at $15, DVDs will remain a much better value.

I agree. I'd rather buy it off Walmart for that price and convert it to iPod format, PSP format and what not. Afterall, I won't be limited to play it on 'n' number of players. Steve was right when he said few years back that movie downloads does not work. Off course, any new addition to the store will not hurt.

Just hope they don't decide to redesign the iMac the beginning of next year like they plan to do with the Macbooks.

Neither will be redesigned next year. Look at the length of time Apple stuck with the previous design. There are still a few years left to this "look."

When do you estimate they will come out with the redesigned exterior?

"A taste of things to come" being said by Jobs at the same event as the release of a way to 'type' on an iPod with just the clickwheel

I don't think there would be a great need for a numpad if dialling, SMS, etc. can all be done from this wheel?

I currently believe that if one is on the way, it would look a lot more like the iPod video of today than we think.

What is it with the 24"? I would like to see something larger than 27 (as I have 30" already). Mini refresh would be nice - then I'd keep my 30".
They need to do it soon or people will wait for Lion before upgrading their hardware.

Because you are not the average consumer. i would never get a 27" as it would probably burn my retinas, and the 21" seems too small. 24 is right in the middle and perfect sized. and what is this mini iMac? 17" cheaper macbook pro on a stand? sure i guess but what is the reasoning? i guess price but if its a desktop it doesn't matter how big it is. or do they want a 900$ one?

I agree with your statement on Lion. they should go for mid-April rather than May. and besides OSX is what? 26 bucks?

Also would like a better mac mini.

So, are we supposed to be proud about this? And if so, why has the same 'accomplishment' earned Microsoft the 'M$' reputation? Double morals?

I doubt we'll see some headless tower (apart from the macpro) i honestly don't think its in apple's interest to openup a new price point. Mac mini provides a nice entry for windows users, people wanting something next to their tv, or have the monitor etc already. MacBook provides mobile low end. iMac allows a bit more power and features over the mini for home users wanting a bit more and companies and people who dont need the power of the Mac Pro. MacBook Pro is high end portable allowing for graphics, photography, design, etc, and to some extent gaming on the go. The Mac Pro is the beast, a workstation more than a desktop and therefore is over specced for the normal user. But why put in a new model in between a imac and a mac pro when having the gap forces people looking for more than an imac to go for the mac pro and increase revenue. By creating an 'in between' model it takes sales away from the popular imac and the expensive mac pro, would probably have to have lower margins to get people to buy it and would just float about in the middle. Maybe die a fate similar to the cube? I don't see it being a smart move.
Mac Pro is not a gaming machine. The memory kills it. It is a server/workstation class designed to worked on large pieces of data.
Gaming is very different and can not use slow memory, it needs to be snappy. Apple does need to make the Gamer machine but it does not have to be as big as the Mac Pro. Kensfield is a real possibility in that system, and yes it is coming in my opinion. Not so much for us but for selling to Wintel users and potential switchers.

You guys should read LA times..Looks like an officer got shot in the Face today in the morning as well..

    http://crime.latimes.com/

Chula Vista is not a walk in the park. I'm not surprised the security guards being armed, or the night guards at least.
Also, i'm surprised on how many keep commenting without reading the article. Yes I know it wasn't stated before, but it has now been updated. 40 shots were fired for the millionth time. At least skim the article.
