When I used my iPhone 3G I always used Opera Mini. It was faster on Edge and more pages were compatible with it than Safari.

I bought this, but I'll also get their new RebelTouch (whenever they come out with it, probably a month or so)
I hope they release a Reptile.

Saying that CD is a rip off of GTA is just ignorance.

I said copy, and it is - even more so than Lair being a "Rogue Squadron meets Panzer" ripoff.
For every one intelligent post here there are about a dozen ignorant ones.........

Because of the success of the Grand Theft Auto series, notably Grand Theft Auto III and subsequent games, several other developers have attempted to replicate GTA's driving/shooting formula and open-ended sandbox play.

    replicate or copy
    6 or half dozen

    Lets not argue semantics

Voice control will never work on the iPod touch 2g because while the framework is in the firmware the actual app is not and the app on the 3rd gen and up is compiled for armv7 which means it will not work on the 2g.

aww :( . Oh well, thanks anyway.

Thanks guys. I figured out I could restart using the OS from the other drive and then threw away the new OS and started over. Yes time consuming, but at least I'll get all my settings back!

That would explain why my Xcode download timed out last night after getting up to ~3GB.
Fricken Apple doesn't understand the concept of bandwidth caps :(

Especially the bandwidth caps down in Middle Earth…

Its days like these that paying $80 for unlimited feels justified.

Jealous. $80 in NZ might get you 30GB if you're lucky.

u cant just take it back if u dont like it, theres a restocking fee

Not in the UK. Unless the salesman was doing me a favour... he said to me, "fourteen days, you can bring it back for a refund - no questions asked".

No idea, sorry. But perhaps you could try Craigslist "Missed Connections", it seems to be made for this kind of quest. Apologies if you have tried it already.

One of the people I know uses a 2.26GHz Core 2 Duo Mac Mini with 4GB of ram, and it's reasonably fast. I'm sure the newer model 2.4GHz will suit your needs just fine, however keep in mind rendering files for say a 25 min long 720p film with 2.1 audio takes about 10 or so minutes on that machine.

Today i purchased a Linksys WRT54. The service isn't as good as I hoped for, doesn't quite cover my home, so i'll probably be returning it tomorrow for something more powerfull and consistent.

Do you guys have any suggestions for wireless routers?? Ones with good range and good little to no dropped signals?

I've been reading about the Belkin Wireless Pre N router, and it seems pretty good. Every review says the range is unmatched. So i'm thinking of getting that one.
Here are some reivews if you guys aren't familiar with it (which i'm sure you guys are).
Belkin Pre N Laptop Magazine Review (http://laptopmag.com/Review/Belkin-Wireless-Pre-N-Router.htm)
Belkin Pre N Cnet review (http://reviews.cnet.com/Belkin_Wireless_Pre_N_router/4505-3319_7-30993672.html?tag=topprods)

    Thanks in advance.

As far as I can tell, the "search to sketch" app is not for local businesses, it is for local restaurants only. I cannot find a way to search for non-restaurant businesses.

Not to be too mean ;p, but re-read the last few sentences of the story again.

Here 'tis, so you don't have to scroll back up:

At launch, Yahoo! Sketch-a-Search is available only in the U.S. and covers only restaurants, but additional business categories and localizations are reportedly coming soon.

Not sure of the 'easiest way' but I've done a few panoramas.
Basically you put your camera on a tripod (ideally with a special head that mounts the camera and lens about it's nodal point - but not essential if you are not too worried about quality) in the middle of your room. You then shoot a series of overlapping shots around the horizontal. You then 'stitch' these together in some software (I use PT Gui (http://www.ptgui.com/) but it's fairly complicated) then export from that a flat jpg that I then bring into another bit of software (PanO2VR (http://gardengnomesoftware.com/pano2vr.php)) to create either a QuickTimeVR or a Flash file that can be then inserted into a web site.
Certainly not easy but can produce some fantastic results!
You can find some useful info on this forum (http://www.panoguide.com/forums/).

Windows cannot be booted from external disks easily.

Normally you just backup content, erase the drive, and format as GUID journaled volume.

Just the one for me a MBP 15".

I plan on updating to the latest MBP once every 4 years roughly unless there is a serious upgrade to tempt me in that timeframe.

Just to chime back in on this one - as with the previous poster, the first update to DP2 worked flawlessly for me too. I wonder how/if we'll know when Apple fix the download...?

First thing I've done with every Thinkpad is strip the Windows, ATI, and Intel stickers off. (Stripped the preloaded Windows installs off in favour of Linux, too...) Looks much cleaner from the get-go, and several years down the line, I'm not left with raggedy stickers and goo smeared on my palmrests. Sure, I wish they hadn't been there to begin with, but not much of an issue.

Isolated the "Slow Pro" problem to what appears to be a slow network problem that has appeared on this computer in the last 3 weeks. Four other computers do not have this problem. Used Tech Tool Pro and checked all six drives - they check ok. I think it may be a problem with software from the MacUpdate Spring Promo bundle, since it was around the time that I installed this software that the problem appeared. Anyone have any additional ideas or know if that promo bundle is the problem? Thansk.

Go to the machine and verify that you can login with the user name and password that you have. Then, verify that whatever service it is that you're trying to connect to is actually running. You didn't tell us, so we have absolutely no way of answering your question, but whatever service it is (HTTP, SSH, AFP, SMB, Telnet, FTP, WebDAV, OpenLDAP, Kerberos, Minecraft), it's probably going to require you talking to the person running the server itself, since clearly you don't have a clue what you're really doing.
