Yes it is true. It is hidden by default now. Takes only a second to make it appear again though, so I don't see why it's that big of a deal? Any technical user that needs to see the Library folder will enable it, and anyone who isn't technical enough won't ever need to access it.
then will it stay in the sidebar like it is now or do we have to use the "go to" command everytime?

I'd get it if it were free!!
gmail is free... so why can't mobile me?
Now I start thinking about it, I've never paid Google a single cent, but I use
*Gmail
*Google search engine
*Google maps
*Google Earth
(*And I used Picasa for a short period of time)
Maybe some orther stuff but the point is... its all free!:)
Today:
Google -> Advertising - Free Services
mobile.me -> No Advertising - Paid Services
Tomorrow?:
mobile.me -> Free Services - iAds (thanks to Html5)
iWork.com -> Free Services - iAds
They are clearly entering googles market. Online services & advertising. I see Apple as the only company who could successfully compete with google.

To be honest, Samsung off of all competitors, deserves that.
- iPhone design copy? check
- iPhone UI copy? check
- Apple keyboard copy? check
Everything is copied.
Samsung deserves that and I am sure Samsung will lose this.

I find it funny that the online apple store has the Quadcore G5 still listed at $3299. $800 dollars more than the default MacPro which has 1GB ram as opposed to the meger 512MB in the G5, Quad 2.66 vs Quad 2.5, a GeForce 7300 vs the Geforce 6600, not to mention the many other bad ass features like 4 HD bays etc. Is it just me, or should the G5 price come down a bit, at least lower than the new MacPro...But then what do I know, I am still running a 500Mhz G3 as my primary machine, by the time all my student loans are paid perhaps the Quad Quad core will be out : )

Read the link, the chip on that link was a Conroe, not a Merom.
What exactly was wrong with what I posted? The link (http://www.microdirect.co.uk/ProductInfo.aspx?ProductID=14564&GroupID=1674) that was posted was to a Conroe chip. mashinhead asked for third party upgrades for the the current Yonah based line here. #64 (http://forums.macrumors.com/showpost.php?p=2708950&postcount=64) emotion replied with this link #70 (http://forums.macrumors.com/showpost.php?p=2708988&postcount=70)
Conroe cannot fit into Yonah's socket.

Ok then you do not know how to follow the order of operations....ie if you want 2, you have to have another set of parenthesis (so you evaluate it before dividing) or mistakenly think that multiplication somehow supersedes the use of division

Interesting how the guy is a total dick when writing to Steve. Nice to see SJ keeps his cool when these idiots with a massive sense of entitlement choose to hit the send button.
Hes not acting like a dick, he's just worried because of what hes heard.
I know your email to Steve would begin with "Your Royal Appleness" and end with "Your faithful Man-Servant"
The man has heard his phone is tracking his location, and is naturally, entitled to be worried.

Apple would block it because it gives preference to Amazon's MP3 store over iTunes. No point in even trying. Just wait, MobileMe revamp will make all of us happy.
MobileMe may be revamped, but the price will be higher - just to match Apple's image.

Sorry, but not all here are U.S. citizens (probably the majority)...when is that famous "Thanksgiving" happening?
4th Thursday in November
One reason "Thanksgiving" is significant is that it traditionally signifies the start of the pre-Christmas buying season...

They cannot just abandon the rack mounted server market. Making the mac pro into a 3U format with optional rack mount ear would be ideal. However, to merge the Pro and Server market, I'd like to see:
1. At least 4 Hot Swap drive bays that don't require the unit being removed.
2. Redundant power supply option
3. I'd love for it to be less than 24" deep. Going 3U, this shouldn't be hard at all.
Hell, supermicro just released a new 1U case with Redundant PSU, only 19.8" Deep and has 4xSATA/SAS hot swaps. It's the 813MTQ-R400CB. Cannot wait to snag one.

Wouldn't a new CPU have to be much faster than the equivalent Intel chip to make it worthwhile? Not just equivalent. Wouldn't it have to be able to run previous generation software in emulation for a period of years.

These smartphone stats are quite interesting. We have a open plan office and when I look around me I see about 5 iPhone 4's, 3 iPhone 3GS's and 1 android.
Also look at how much money Apple has in the bank now in relation to their smartphone market share...
What's that got to do with anything?

Android is given freely, so how does Google make money? The same way they make just about (95%+) ALL their money: from selling information to advertisers. So Android exists to get more people to use Google software, which then allows them to sell more ads and make money.

They only make money when you SEARCH on your android handset.

As for prices, any word on compatibility with 3rd party Ram and internal hard drives ?
You can't possibly run a Pro rig on a meager 1 Gb of Ram, and Apple charges 1100$ for a the minimum 4 gig upgrade  .
Also, the new HD slots look kinda custom...
Without non-Apple options, the real price of the new desktops will make them very expensive for serious users, at least for early adopters.

sadly with all the hype, real and otherwise, i won't be impressed with the first iteration even if it slices and toasts bagels for me. you gotta admit that some first apple efforts, while cool in design, limp out of the gate when compared to other manufacturers (how long did it take to get a CD-R in a laptop or desktop as one example)
that's not to say that i don't usually end up embracing what cupertino puts forth, please everyone understand that nokia, sony-e, motorola and the others have been doing phones far longer than apple. there's no possible way apple one-ups them on the first go.

I hope Apple gets Toyota to pull that crap back. Jailbreaking shouldn't be legitimate nor supported in any way.
Why not. It's your stuff.
If I want to mod my TV would you say that is not legitimate.
If I want to modify my thermostat to talk to a computer, is that not legitimate?
Reprogram my roomba. . .
Why do you think people aren't allowed to modify the crap they BOUGHT!

Quad Xeons in the MacBook Pro, pretty please. After all, it is Apple's professional notebook line.
Yes, and the MacBook for $299. After all, it is Apple's entry level notebook line.
